The Research Group of Applied AI for Health ( A2I4H) at the University of Oulu develops advanced machine learning and AI methods to address complex challenges in the medical and healthcare fields. Our primary research areas include medical imaging analysis, clinical decision support, early disease detection, identification of novel biomarkers, and novel therapy applications for various conditions. Our work focuses on extracting clinically valuable insights from diverse data sources—including radiology, pathology, and various sensor data—to enhance early disease detection, optimize treatment planning, and support personalized medicine. Collaborating closely with clinicians and healthcare providers, we develop and refine algorithms that meet practical healthcare needs, from automated disease classification and prognostic modeling to anomaly detection in large-scale patient datasets. These partnerships ensure that our methods are directly applicable and responsive to real-world clinical environments.

The complete list of publications can be found on our Google Scholar page: GScholar. In addition, you can find Neslihan Bayramoglu’s university page here: Link.
